Venture capital firms poured $14.2 billion into crypto across 725 deals in the first half of 2022. Big four accounting firm KPMG predicts investments will likely slow for the remainder of the year.

Largest investments in H1 2022 came from German-based crypto trading platform Trade Republic ($1.1 billion), digital asset custody platform Fireblocks ($550 million), crypto exchange FTX ($500 million), and Ethereum software company ConsenSys ($450 million) The largest investments were made by German firm Trade Republic.

Celsius co-founder declares his equity is ‘worthless’ in court

A Celsius Network co-founder has moved in court to declare the entirety of his equity stake in the embattled crypto company as ""worthless"". Law firm Kirkland & Ellis LLP filed a Sept. 5 document to the United States Bankruptcy Court on behalf of Celsius Co-Founder Daniel Leon. A declaration that a particular stock or common share is “worthless” generally occurs when shareholders in a company think they will not receive any further distribution for their holdings. The embattled crypto lender filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July.
