Bitcoin CIO Justin Bons has called Bitcoin “technically one of the worst cryptocurrencies,” and a “purely speculative asset without utility” in comparison to other cryptocurrencies due to its lack of technological progress. Bons said Bitcoin's value proposition has long deteriorated due to a broken long-term security model, comparatively weak economic qualities, and lack of capacity, programmability, and composability. He doesn’t appear to address the Bitcoin Lightning network, which is one of more obvious solutions to the network's scaling problem.

BarrelDAO Sells Solana Beer

333 NFTs sold for 1.35 SOL (about $45) each. Each resembles a receipt entitling the owner to a 16-pack of Solana Summer Shandy. NFT artist Mark Lauthier designed the artwork for the can. The company said 20 community members served as taste testers for the final project, ultimately coming up with a 4% ABV lemonade shandy. Each NFT will be redeemable for the beer — which is not an official product of the Solana Labs.
