$440m in crypto assets were frozen by the USA government on tornado cash and all addresses attached to it as america puts it on the SDN (Specially Designated Nationals) list. Why did america do this? Well Tornado cash lets people use the blockchain anonymously and privately, AKA transactions are hidden so you cant really track one address to see the flow of coins and according to Chainanalysis, every single North Korean-linked hack used Tornado to launder funds. So by logic the American government sees it as a threat. The SDN list has historically been used for people - i.e terrorists, drug lords, people that put pineapple on pizza, etc. JK on that last one… But this is the first time it’s being used on a tech tool. Now anyone that uses it gets in trouble. Whether you're using it for legit reasons or not.

Our take: In as much as this understandable its also a nice show of power and centralization by the United states, another reason why we need to decentralize

17 Celebrities Just Got Warning Letters About Shilling NFTs

Celebrities have been quick to jump into NFTs, but their motivations for doing so may be confusing to fans. Truth in Advertising, a consumer watchdog group, just sent letters to 17 celebrities, including Jimmy Fallon and Gwyneth Paltrow, reminding them that not disclosing material connections when posting about something on social media violates Federal Trade Commission guidelines.

The letter read: 'we have found that celebrity NFT promotions is an area rife with deception, including, but not limited to, a failure to clearly and conspicuously disclose the promoter’s material connection to the endorsed NFT company, as well as the omission of other material information, such as the risks associated with investing in such speculative digital assets, the financial harm that can result from such investments, and the personal benefit(s) the promoter may gain by virtue of the promotion(s).'

Our Take: Lately actions are being taken against celebrities shilling NFTs, this is very much a welcome development as it will greatly reduce the number of scamans and celebrity pumps
