Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH) and other major cryptocurrencies slump to new monthly lows. Flash crash also saw 157,098 traders liquidate in the past 24 hours, resulting in total liquidations of over $551 million. Bitcoin traders lost over $203 million, followed by Ether traders at $140 million. The sudden plunge in the crypto market is being attributed to the U.S. Federal Reserve’s expected interest rate hike in September. An interest rate rise by the Fed next month could lead to another downturn.

72% of Russians say they have never bought Bitcoin: Survey

72% of Russians have never bought Bitcoin, according to a new survey. Only 5% of respondents said they stopped buying after their first crypto purchase. Only 23% said they continued to buy crypto, on average, on a monthly basis. Russia’s low crypto adoption rate comes in line with low levels of awareness and crypto education. The Kremlin reportedly estimated that Russians owned about $200 billion worth of crypto by 2021. Some experts believe that Russians have been turning to crypto due to foreign currency restrictions by the Bank of Russia.

Eminem and Snoop Dogg to perform Bored Apes track at MTV music awards

Eminem and Snoop Dogg will be performing at MTV’s Video Music Awards together on Sunday, in a performance inspired by the Otherside metaverse and Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFTs. The rap icons will be giving some major mainstream exposure to Otherside by transforming the VMAs stage into its style for their latest collaborative single ‘From the D 2 the LBC’ The single marks the first collaboration between the two artists in 20 years, with the duo up for the “Best Hip Hop” award.
